Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some common questions about Pearl Accountants and the various services we offer.
My contract is uncertain, do I still need an accountant?
If you plan to receive (even some) income then you will need to account the earnings and declare to HMRC. Normally we would recommend being setup as a limited company which would be the ideal route for some contractors. Therefore, you will need to declare these earnings to HMRC and may require an accountant to help you compute these properly and in the most tax efficient way.
Is a limited company structure tax efficient for a contractor?
In a simple answer, yes limited company structure would suit contractors. Normally we would consult with you to understand your earnings and whether you fall into IR35.
Do you charge based on my contract rate?
No. We feel this is unreasonable form of charging and therefore we charge based on the volume and complexity of the work.
